The Ministry of Culture and AFS Thailand signed the Memorandum of Understanding

On April 21, the Ministry of Culture and AFS Thailand signed the Memorandum of Understanding at Rama Gardens Hotel, Bangkok. The commitment of the Ministry of Culture corresponds with that of AFS Thailand. To promote the culture to the people, locally and internationally, is one of the major tasks of the two organizations. In this essence, the Memorandum of Understanding was established to assist and support the work of the two parties in promoting and developing our culture in various aspects including Thai Art and Culture, Thai Etiquettes, Thai Classical Dance, Thai Classical Music, and Museums and Archeological Sites. The three-year-period Memorandum of Understanding allows a certain frame of collaboration between the Ministry of Culture and AFS Thailand. The cooperation includes data exchange, expert exchange, training, seminar, museum and archeological sites visits, and cultural activity. The collaborative work between the two organizations will be reviewed throughout the 3-year timeframe. The assessment will accordingly indicate the development of cultural supports of the two parties after the three-year time. The Ministry of Culture has been providing great supports to AFS Thailand in certain parts of the program where culture is involved. Signing a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry gives a great recognition to AFS Thailand as an important promoter of cultural learning through youth exchange. With a great collaboration between the Ministry and AFS Thailand, new projects will be created and implemented for direct benefits to both Thai participants and hosted participant as well as the people and communities involved. The Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Culture is a further move of AFS Thailand towards the AFS ultimate goal of creating peace to the world.

A mutual understanding among people from different cultures: a key to create a more just and peaceful world.
