11/11/2008 - AFS-THA students Joined US Election Watch 2008 in Bangkok

US Election Watch 2008 (Bangkok) on November 5th , Five AFS hosted students from USA joined Election event at Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel, Bangkok.
The students came to the event as guests of the American Ambassador and took part in the local mock election and were on hand when the nomination of President Election Obama was announced on the screens from Washington, D C. All AFS students talked with the Ambassador, H.E. Eric G. John, his wife, many Thai university students and other invited guests.
Throughout the event, “I Report”, the US elections viewpoint from AFS students hosted in USA, videos had displayed on big screens and seen by more than 2,000 Thai University students, a large audience of American residents and international guests, many respective guests from government including Thai Prime Minister and Bangkok Governor. The videos were requested by the Public Diplomacy Division and the American Ambassador to Thailand. Three Thai AFS students hosted in the US were Yotsapol Asarath (Houston, TX), Supaswad Nimsmer (Sheboygan, WI) and Suphasit Tanprasertsupa (Virginia, MN). The video presentations had received a very highly compliment.
