5/3/2008 - AFS-THA participants meet with H.E. Ambassador of Peru

H.E. Mr. Carlos and Madame Simona Velasco, AFS Thailand staff and participants to Peru.

March 3rd, 2008, His Excellency Mr. Carlos Velasco, the Ambassador of Peru, invited 7 AFS-THA participants (YPscSH08/PER) and 5 returnees (YPscSH07/PER) to join high-tea with His Excellency at his residence on Sukhumvit road. This was a great honor to AFS Thailand and the AFS-THA participants to receive this invitation for the second year in a row. His Excellency along with Madame Simona welcomed all participants, introduced Peru briefly to students who would be spending their one year as exchange students in Peru and gave souvenirs from Peru to all participants that day. He also asked the returnees about their one-year experience in Peru. The returnees had expressed their astonishing experience living with Peruvian families and friends. This meeting also helped exchange students to broaden their perspectives on living in a new environment as an exchange student.
The AFS-THA participants to Peru had a wonderful time and gained more knowledge and understanding about the new environment they were going to live.
