20/2/2008 - AFS-THA organized the Volunteers Northeastern Regional Meeting 2008
AFS Board members, Management team, Ubon Ratchathani Chapter President and volunteers.
AFS Thailand brought the Volunteer & Program Development team to the farthest northeastern part of Thailand, Ubon Ratchathani, for the first Volunteer Regional Meeting on February 11-12, 2008.
This event aimed to approach the volunteers in the northeastern region and welcome the new volunteers to the AFS family. Each year, AFS Thailand organized two major conferences: the March Meeting and the National Conference in November. Regularly, AFS chapter presidents and coordinators attended the functions. The regional conference was a great opportunity to meet and share experience with other AFS volunteers who had been working and communicating with AFS head office or other volunteers from other chapters but never interacted in person.
The conference included speeches and presentations from our Board Members and our outstanding volunteers, notably Mrs. Prachuab Chamniprasart, Mr. Surawat Chompoopong and Mr. Vikorn Makdee.
The main topics of the discussion mainly focused on how to develop and promote the volunteer tasks and work force in the region, and brainstorm on the workshop “AFS Chapter Strategy for 2008” coping with the fund raising plan.
From the post evaluation we found that our volunteers requested for more Regional Meeting and the most appreciated program was the workshop session. The AFS Thailand Regional Meeting in Ubon Ratchathani ended with smile and the sense of belongings and appreciation had occurred among our volunteers.
